SALARY: The salary range for this position is $82,311.01 to $127,886.42. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater.

REMOTE WORK : The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.
The Bergen Vicinage is seeking an individual with exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and customer service skills to serve as Assistant Civil Division Manager. Under the general direction of the Court Executive 2B (Civil Division Manager), the selected candidate will oversee the work of supervisors and staff across docket types in the day-to-day operations of several case management and customer service teams, courtroom functions, and other division activities. Specific duties will include: reviewing court activities to ensure compliance with laws, Court Rules, and directives; monitoring work for completeness and accuracy; consulting and communicating with judges, chambers and divisional staff, attorneys, and court users; participating in formulating and developing goals and objectives; preparing, analyzing, and presenting statistical reports; offering suggestions and solutions regarding existing and anticipated challenges; coordinating activities across stakeholders; and explaining Judiciary policies and procedures to court users. Additional expectations will include: determining goals and objectives; advising management on personnel issues; conducting formal and informal performance advisory meetings, and preparing assessments; mentoring and coaching staff; arranging for staff training; recommending staff recognition and/or discipline; and participating in recruitment and selection activities. The selected candidate will also: serve on committees; attend and participate in meetings; and perform other duties as required.
Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits. An associate's degree and two years of additional professional experience may be substituted for the required bachelor's degree. A master's degree may be substituted for one year of experience as indicated above -OR- a law degree may be substituted for two years of experience as indicated above.
Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.

Residency Law: Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), also known as the "New Jersey First Act," all persons newly hired by the Judiciary must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey.
