Part-Time Outreach and Resource Coordinator - Hampton Roads Region

Responsible to: Outreach and Volunteer Coordinator

Pay: $20 per hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, some weekends and evenings (25 hrs/wk)

The Hampton Roads Outreach and Volunteer Coordinator will support the LIVE Center’s mission, primarily through connecting Spanish speaking callers with community resources, building relationships with other organizations, engaging communities in our work through outreach efforts, and performing daily administrative tasks (comprising 80% of her/his work time):

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide voluntary trauma-informed, culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate services
  • Develop and maintain relationships, both formal and informal, with allied organizations, community members, and other service providers
  • Respond quickly and appropriately to helpline/hotline callers
  • Prepare quarterly newsletter and other social media communications in English
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation and reports, including community engagement data entries in VAdata and grant reports for the CEO as needed
  • Conduct basic administrative/maintenance tasks to contribute to smooth functioning of office operations
  • Work alongside the Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator to prepare and distribute education and outreach materials (includes social media posts), and organize and/or participate in community events, forums, training events and cultural celebrations (virtual and in-person)
  • Exhibit congruence between the mission and values of The LIVE Center and her/his interactions with the community/clients
  • Thoroughly understand and abide by The LIVE Center’s policies and correctly implement all procedures
  • Other duties, as required

Requirements:

  • Associate’s Degree
  • Bilingual English-Spanish and Bicultural
  • Extensive knowledge of the Latino/Hispanic culture and their resources in Hampton Roads, Virginia
  • Excellent writing, public speaking, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain a compassionate and professional approach while working with people in crisis situations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to multitask
  • Strong computer skills. Experience with Google Tools, Canva, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred
  • Reliable transportation and a valid VA state driver’s license
  • Successful background check
  • Demonstrate effective, critical thinking strategies and appropriate decision making
