As part of the Exploration team, the successful candidate is required to be self-motivated, able to thrive in a team environment and have a passion for discovery. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in hard-rock geology and possess knowledge of ore forming processes. This role requires relocation to Elko NV, the heart of world class gold deposits.

Responsibilities:

• Collection of geologic data, mapping, sampling, RC chip and core logging
• Ensure data integrity and implementation of QAQC procedures
• Data synthesis, compilation, and geologic interpretation to support targeting
• Support drill program design and safe execution
• Deliver regular progress reports and presentations

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Geology or related field required, Masters preferred
• 0-5 years of experience in mining/mineral exploration
• Possess a high-level of organization and attention to detail with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
• Competence in mineralogy, structural geology, with field experience
• Ability to follow company policies and procedures and ensure fellow employees/contractors follow company policies and procedures
• Self-starter that can work within a team environment
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem solving abilities
• Familiarity with geologic mapping, sampling, logging and modeling is preferred

About Nevada Gold Mines

Nevada Gold Mines is a joint venture between Barrick Gold Corporation (61.5%) and Newmont Goldcorp Corporation (38.5%), combining their significant assets across Nevada to create the single largest gold-producing complex in the world and realize the full potential of these mines through synergies and best-in-class operational improvements.

The massive mining operation comprises 8 mines along with their associated infrastructure and processing facilities that produced an estimated 4 million ounces of gold in 2018. Three of these assets are Tier One gold mines: Barrick’s Cortez; the combination of Barrick’s Goldstrike and Newmont Goldcorp’s Carlin; and the combination of Barrick’s Turquoise Ridge and Newmont Goldcorp’s Twin Creeks. In addition, Barrick’s Goldrush-Fourmile project has the potential to become the fourth Tier One asset in this portfolio. The new JV is expected to generate around $5 billion in cost savings over the next five years. Nevada Gold Mines is operated by Barrick.
