Overall Responsibilities:

- Provide on-going management of all engineering, equipment, building and vehicle maintenance issues, as well as providing education and growth opportunities for any direct reports

- Constantly learning about emerging technologies while providing on-going feedback and advice to the General Manager regarding technological options on all technical systems and needed equipment that aligns with our strategic initiatives.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Supervise all operations relative to FCC rules and regulations and take corrective action as necessary
- Help maintain/increase profitability by minimizing off air time
- Assist General Manager in reducing overhead costs by using prudent maintenance (preventative and corrective) and supervision of physical assets in Appleton, Green Bay and all tower sites
- Oversee contractors, electrical and plumbing vendors as needed
- Assist in providing staff with technical tools and knowledge required to do their jobs
- Work with Brand Managers to be certain the technical sound of the station meets their goals
- Work with other leadership team members to ensure their work equipment is in good working condition
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and legal changes to determine suitable recommendations for implementation, act as a technical resource to the General Manager and other department heads as needed
- Decide on best and most cost-effective solutions for various problems
- Hire, train and supervise engineering department employees and help them develop professionally
- Assist with employee safety practices (ex/fire and active shooter drills) and appearance of buildings
- Network with other engineers and electronics professionals as resources
- Portray a positive image of WRG to peers and others in the community; act as technical liaison to members of the community
- Oversee, plan and execute equipment purchases and installation, facilities upgrades or construction and electronic construction of special devices
- Assist corporate personnel as necessary for efficient operation of broadcast division
- Other duties as assigned

Skills**: Ability to troubleshoot quickly under stressful conditions. Ability to repair tube, transistor, IC and logic circuits. Budgeting and execution of said budget is a strong plus. Good people and problem solving skills.

Knowledge: A high school education with a minimum of 2 years additional education in electronics at a technical school or college. SBE Broadcast Technologist Certificate or FCC General Class Permit is preferred. A minimum 5 years experience in the maintenance and operations of terrestrial studio and transmitter equipment (including AC, DC, RF and IT systems), 2-way communications equipment, microwave equipment and satellite receiving equipment. Minimum of two years management experience in financial planning, budgeting and personnel supervision.
