How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

As a part of the On-Board Services (OBS) Sustainability Innovation & Strategy team this position will be charged with creating and executing cross-divisional programs to advance Delta sustainability goals. A key focus for the 2023 Spring Co-Op is to develop a portfolio of sustainable fabrics that should be considered for onboard products. Portfolio is to include the environmental footprint for each material enabling us to make appropriate tradeoff decisions.

Primary Responsibilities include:
  • Conducting research and benchmarking of key material advances/trends and translating into key insights
  • Data analytics skills and sustainability expertise to identify, build, and evaluate programs and partnerships
  • Analyze existing On-Board Services (OBS) soft goods products/services and improve their footprint by suggesting alternative materials and upgrades to the current methodology/process
  • Supporting senior colleagues in preparing materials for presentations; translating the On-Board Services (OBSs) sustainability initiatives into engaging product stories
  • You will work cross-functionally on sustainability and social impact initiatives.
  • You will be expected to dive deep into the details, but to present your high-level analysis to senior leaders. Through this work, you will gain exposure to Deltas In-flight strategy and to Deltas integrated approach to sustainability.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)



  • Fashion and Textile Design, Fashion and Textile Management, Textile Engineering, Textile Science or related major in a 4-year degree program
  • Must be available for three alternating semesters
  • In good standing with the University with a 3.0 GPA or greater
  • Good communication skill in verbal and written
  • Project management and organization skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft: Word, Power Point, Access
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work with minimal instruction
  • Eager to accept responsibility and create value-added project
  • Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.
