Job Description

CEA Technologies, Inc. is seeking an experienced, reliable & task-oriented individual to fill the full or part-time position of Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Engineer in our Beavercreek OH location. This position requires the ability to apply independent judgment & discretion, as well as the identification, analysis & resolution of complex cybersecurity-related matters. This individual must stand up, manage, and maintain a small classified software development environment, and perform the roles of the Facility Security Officer (FSO) and Information System Security Manager (ISSM), in close cooperation with the local Technical Director. This position reports to the corporate Facility Security Officer (FSO) in Hanover, Maryland, in a challenging, fast-paced, collaborative & rewarding environment. The individual will collaborate with the small company team for researching, developing, implementing, testing & reviewing the organization's information security posture in order to protect sensitive information from unauthorized disclosure, prevent unauthorized access to accredited assets & to assist with obtaining & maintaining Authorities-To- Operate (ATOs) for accredited Information Systems located within the CEATI North Las Vegas NV field office. As a member of the corporate Security and Infrastructure team, the individual will be called-on to assist with other security related duties, such as self-inspections, investigations, user-training, interpreting & applying corporate policy, etc. The individual must be able to work some evening hours to collaborate and support the distributed U.S. and Australia teams, and should expect to travel at least quarterly to other U.S. sites, and to the Australian parent’s facility on occasion.

Responsibilities & tasks include:

Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Engineer

· Architect, install, configure, maintain & support the computer systems, wide area networks, local area networks, intranets, server assets, individual computers, mobile devices & other applications & tools

· Propose, coordinate, implement & enforce information systems security/cyber policies, standards & methodologies

· Perform information/computer/cyber/network security, vulnerability analysis, system auditing, penetration testing, computer forensics & computer systems research

· Maintain current knowledge & drive the implementation of industry best practices & DoD security, technical guidelines & organizational policies

· Provide day-to-day user assistance to include technical support for computers, servers & associated networks across a relatively small national workforce

· Monitor security logs for violations & anomalies; report & suggest mitigation strategies for information security concerns & problems when identified

· Identify root-causes of operational issues & process inefficiencies

· Attend, conceive & conduct training &/or meetings to support the direction & continuous improvements of the CEATI IT Program

· Assist in planning future technology needs, project management & policy/procedure writing, while being hands-on in day-to-day technology operations & support, conducting user training & resolving customer issues

· Other duties as assigned

Information System Security Manager (ISSM) related responsibilities

· Coordinate with the CEATI FSO, ISSM & IT Engineers to maintain a strong information security posture to ensure information systems maintain compliance with applicable security directives & standards, such as ICD 503, NIST, CNSSI, NISPOM, DAAPM

· Administer server operating systems including performance monitoring, operations planning, troubleshooting & preventative maintenance

· Ensure system availability; regularly patch & perform backups for systems

· Manage security aspects of information systems & perform day-to-day security operations

· Improve data backup solutions; perform regular data backup

· Recognize & examine potential security violations to determine if the Information System (IS) security posture has been breached, assess the impact, preserve evidence & take appropriate action to report the incident as required by regulation

· Conduct periodic assessments of authorized systems & providing corrective actions for all identified findings & vulnerabilities; Recommend, schedule, &/or implement IA related repairs within the network environment

· Monitor, test & troubleshoot hardware/software IA problems regarding the network environment

· Lead teams and/or support actions to quickly resolve or mitigate IA problems for the network

· Verify system security documentation is current & accessible to properly authorized individuals

· Perform system audits; Ensure audit records are collected & analyzed in accordance with the Information System security plan(s)

· Support the installation of new or modified hardware, OS & software applications ensuring integration with IA security requirements

· Implement hardware, software & personnel processes to ensure IA security for the network including boundary defense, incident detection & response & key component function

· Monitor & evaluate the effectiveness of IA security procedures & safeguards on the network; Implement vulnerability countermeasures

· Implement & maintain security systems including, but not limited to intrusion detection systems, Closed Area badge systems & firewalls

· Schedule & perform regular & special case backups on all network systems; Monitor system recovery processes to ensure security features & procedures are properly restored & functioning correctly

· Complete the required training identified in the ISSM Required Training Table within 6 months of appointment to include obtaining a DoD 8570 Level I/II certification (Security + CE)

Facility Security Officer (FSO) related responsibilities

· Implement industrial security program & ensure company & customer security requirements are met

· Interface with all levels of CEATI personnel & government management personnel to ensure contract security compliance with National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM), DoD Manual 5205.07, Contract Security Classification Specification (DD254) & Program Classification Guides

· Conduct security self-inspections, apply risk mitigation methodologies, support customer assessments & implement security measures to meet requirements

· Administer day-to-day security programs, personnel processing, program reviews, document control system, audits & self-inspections, violation investigations & reports, receipt/dispatch/destruction/mail logs, visit certs, etc.

· Attend & conduct training and/or meetings to support the direction and continuous improvements of the CEATI Security Program

Basic Qualifications:

· At least five years of demonstrated work experience, preferably with Federal assignments, to include at least two of the following areas: knowledge of current security tools; hardware/software security implementation; communication protocols; & encryption techniques/tools.

· CompTIA Security+ Certificate preferred; Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Cloud Security Certification (CSSP), or similar credential or education in support thereof highly valued.

· Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Security, Information Assurance, Information Security, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Networking, Information Science or Cyber Security desired but not a prerequisite for consideration.

· Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Server technologies – Managing, Installing, Configuring, upgrading & securing in accordance with the Federal guidance including NIST 800 Series, DoD STIGs

· Network architecture experience including virtualization, firewalls, endpoint security, cloud service providers

· Experience in a FOCI-mitigated cleared facility

· Possess technical & interpersonal skills necessary to perform in a tightly integrated team of engineers & technicians as well as independently in the field

· Ability to adapt to a changing environment & handle multiple priorities

· Must be able to obtain DoD SECRET clearance within six months of employment. Active DoD SECRET preferred

· Must be willing & able (on potentially short-notice) to deploy/travel to a variety of domestic locations & for a variety of deployment durations to meet customer needs

· Applicant must have highly effective verbal & written communication skills, proven experience working in a team environment, & the ability to complete assignments independently with minimal supervision

· Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

Desirable Qualifications:

· Active DoD SECRET clearance with TS eligibility

· Experience in the Risk Management Framework (RMF), Information Systems Security technologies, IT policies & ability to interpret policies & directives
