Description
- The Director of Community Day Services (CDS) provides leadership, supervision and support for the adult CDS program.
- They ensure staff members maintain a person-centered philosophy in all aspects of service and are responsible for the development of systems that overall impact the structure and quality of the program.
- The Director of CDS promotes a positive and therapeutic environment that is responsive to the needs of the individuals served, the staff providing the services, and reflects the mission of the organization.
- The Director of Community Day Services will report directly to the Vice President of Community Day Services.
- Provide leadership, supervision, training and support to all direct reports, while promoting a person-centered environment and self-advocacy concepts.
- Provide administrative support in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities
- Responsibilities include but are not limited to recruiting, onboarding, and training employees.
- Ensure delivery and/or coordination of all Community Day Services are in compliance with DHS Rule 119 and 120, agency mission, agency policy and procedure, program guidelines and best practice.
- Provide input into the development of departmental goals, guidelines and practices to ensure efficient program operation.
- Track all necessary data for departmental goals and outcomes.
- Provide leadership to day program services that person-centered activities and curriculum- based programs are scheduled, organized, and implemented across all day service programming.
- Assist with the intake process for screening and program placement for CDS programs.
- Effectively carry out other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of three years’ experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Minimum of two years’ supervisory/administrative experience.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Knowledge of and experience in working with regulatory agencies and funding sources, including the application of Rule 119, BQM and BALC standards.
- Valid Driver’s license
