Primary responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, schedule and dispatch drivers to appropriate locations based on customer requests and needs using telephone, radio, or face-to-face communication, arrange for necessary repairs for trucks, trailers, containers to restore service and schedules. Confer with customers or sales/customer service personnel to address questions, problems, and requests for pick-ups. Prepare daily work and run schedules, receive or prepare dispatch orders. Monitor drivers and equipment locations and utilization to coordinate service and schedules. Record and maintain files and records of customer requests, work or services performed, and other dispatch information. Train / Educate new drivers in dispatching procedures, paperwork completion and customer information. Maintain licensing and overweight permit information for company, Coordinate inspections. Assign and Update container numbers; assist in purchasing and repair of containers. Maintain regular attendance. Other assignments as determined by management.
