OnsiteThe Displays Center is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team.
The candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with a dynamic group of engineers, designers, and technicians across optical, mechanical, and electrical domains. The candidate will gain experience in mechanical and optical design, design validation testing, and assembly and test processes for current and emerging display technologies.
Primary Responsibilities:
This role will be involved in the optical and mechanical engineering design and development processes as well as support of engineering activities throughout the Displays Products business via:
Formulating designs, investigating design factors, developing preliminary layouts, conducting analysis, and making layouts of assemblies.
Designing components, sub-systems, and assemblies of functional products and systems
Building and testing product prototypes to measure design performance
Supporting product improvement and manufacturing operations via investigating materials interchangeability within constraints of strength-weight efficiency, contractual requirements, power and cost.
Technical Requirements we are looking for include:
Hands on experience working with design software to create mechanical models, drawings and assembly drawings; Siemens NX experience preferred
Ability to reading and interpreting mechanical engineering drawings; GD&T knowledge desired.
Ability to write/review documents required for the manufacture of engineering deliverables.
Experience using mechanical and thermal lab equipment to support execution of test plans
Understanding of design for manufacturing and assembly principles

Must be a highly motivated self-starter who can work both independently and alongside product development teams to move projects towards completion.
Efficiently prioritize, organize, and execute tasks to maintain the program milestones for assigned projects.
Strong verbal and written communication skills including via clear and concise presentations at engineering status and milestone reviews
Ability to be adaptive and take initiative
Work with a dynamic group of engineers, designers, and technicians across optical, mechanical, and electrical domains.
Ability to assess the project status and supply concise data to the project engineer
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from a four-year accredited college/university required, and up to one year of experience.
Must be a U.S. Citizen
