Pet Food Express is seeking experienced operations candidates for our new Oakley, California Distribution Center. The ideal candidate will have a successful track record of production planning, managing a large team, and ensuring safe, timely, and accurate results.

The right candidate will have experience utilizing Warehouse Management Software, Time and Attendance Systems, and other production monitoring tools to deliver projected results.

Reporting to the Warehouse General Manager, the Senior Supervisor will manage all activities of the inbound or outbound operations team. Duties include the pre-shift planning and execution of the daily Store-Order fulfillment or Receiving and Replenishment activities. This key role is responsible for coordinating the activities of the Warehouse Supervisors and Associates in order selection, replenishment, and shuttling, loading, and custodial roles.

This role is a key player in maintaining a safe, respectful, collaborative, and healthy culture of accountability.

What you’ll do:

• Ensure safe, timely, and accurate processing of daily orders.
• Assess staffing for the day and assign resources and equipment according to the workload.
• Audit documentation for discrepancies within PO’s and work with the Distribution Manager in resolving these discrepancies
• Strong understanding of the (FIFO) process
• Monitor work progress throughout the shift to ensure all work is completed in a timely manner.
• Dedicate a minimum of 70% of your day to on-the-floor supervision.
• Look for patterns in the problems. Resolving inventory accuracy issues and/or escalating to the Warehouse Analysts.
• Recognize and encourage exceptional performance while coaching and addressing those who require it.

• Monitor cleanliness and organization as you move through the facility.
• Responsible for the movement of product to and from locations within the warehouse and maintaining warehouse configuration
• Fostering a strong partnership with merchants, buyers, and store operations to provide excellent supply chain support
• Enforce all safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

• Participate in Direct Observation Process validation.

• Model personal accountability.
• Cultivate and maintain a positive work environment.
• Provide honest, accurate, and timely feedback to associates and to management with regard to their performance, qualifications, development, and morale.

What you’ll need:

• 5-6 years’ experience supervising in a production environment.
• Have been a leader of leaders previously.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse practices and procedures.
• Familiarity with warehouse systems; Proficient with MS Excel, Word and Outlook, WMS and capable of learning new software.
• A positive can-do attitude.
• Proven leadership abilities, with strong motivational and team-building skills.
• An uncompromising commitment to safe practices. Comfortable recognizing, assessing, and stopping unsafe practices if observed.
• A proven record of personal accountability, honest and thorough communication (verbal and written) and a strong drive to complete all work accurately and on time.
• The ability and willingness to work flexible shifts to support operations when needed and to be reliably present and on-time.
