Ambulatory Medical Practices MSO Inc. (AMP), for ColumbiaDoctors, has an exciting opportunity available for an Echo Technician to join our dynamic team! This is a Full Time position.
AMP is a Management Service Organization (MSO) that provides administrative and clinical support staff for ColumbiaDoctors. ColumbiaDoctors is one of the largest multi-specialty practices in New York State, comprised of an experienced group of physicians specializing in Cardiology, Vascular Disease, Internal Medicine, Obesity, Podiatry, Gastroenterology, and Endocrinology. We are a large group with over 50 Columbia Providers and offices in Westchester, Rockland, and Orange Counties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive patients, records medical history considered necessary and explain procedures, providing humane and appropriate care and communication to alleviate fear and/or anxiety of examination; answering questions; providing assistance to examination table or treadmill
- Identify and screen all patient demographic data to confirm patient accuracy
- Verifies Prescription/Order for test is on file in patient’s chart
- Prepares patient by correctly positioning patient for the examination and making any necessary adjustments. Determine if any special patient preparation is required
- Checks for previous patient studies for comparison with current scheduled study. This includes previous images using the same modality as well as imaging performed with complementary modalities, i.e. CT, MRI, etc…
- Maintains logs of ultrasound exams
- Prepares for examinations by checking inventory and restocking supplies. Assure all equipment is functioning properly and report malfunctions to the Technical Director. Assists in keeping ultrasound equipment and work station clean
- Perform stress echo both exercise and pharmacological
- Records, files and edit results of sonograms in Syngo/ Pro-Solv and completes all appropriate paperwork for physician interpretation
- Notifies reading physician of any discrepant or unexpected findings, this includes any areas imaged during the course of the exam. If the reading physician is not available, another physician in the practice must be informed to determine if any further action is required in regards to the patient’s care, and the findings
- Advanced analysis and quantification of Aortic and Mitral Valves
- Extensive calculation of hemodynamic parameters and left ventricular dimensions
- Attend monthly and quarterly meetings and maintain necessary CME’s needed for IAC accreditation
- Assists with IAC accreditation as directed
Requirements Include:
- High School Diploma or Equivalency Diploma
- Two (2) years of college or graduate of Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
- One (1) year of experience in Diagnostic Ultrasound, including clinical rotations
- 3 – 5 years of experience
- Registered Diagnostic Medical/Cardiac Sonographer (RDMS or RDCS) required
- BLS Certified
- EMR Experience
- 3D Capable and general ultrasound experience a plus
