Job Summary:
As a Disney Character Events Casual Temporary (CT) Entertainment Manager, you will support the presentation, management, and oversight of live entertainment offerings, with a focus on Disney Characters, at the Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts as well as off-site.
The Disney Character Events (DCE) Entertainment Manager champions excellence by delivering a high-quality experience for cast, guests and partners, coaches and mentors cast, demonstrates a clear passion for Disney Excellence, Diversity, Disney Heritage and Character Brand Integrity. Adept at crafting and maintaining effective client relationships, the DCE Entertainment Manager communicates professionally with a wide variety of internal divisions and outside groups, educates/assists partners in driving appropriate character events, develops and completes a wide variety of projects, and efficiently leads groups of performers while representing The Walt Disney Company. This is a Seasonal role.
You will report to an Area Manager, Disney Character Events.
You Will:
- Supervise live entertainment special events and lead performers, captains, attendants, and technicians, involved in the DCE special events.
- Coordinate and partner with several other departments, teams and lines of business, while establishing relationships with multiple teams across lines of business.
- Gain a complete understanding of the creative intent and be able to maintain that vision throughout an event/ live show entertainment offering.
- Manage and use resources to coordinate scheduling, and accurate time recording.
- Lead hourly Cast Members, including Cast Members from various Unions.
You Will Have:
- 2 or more years of experience in Disney Character Entertainment or relevant entertainment field
- 2 or more years of professional leadership experience
- Proficiency in basic computer functions vital to operate in a Windows environment and other technologies
- Ability to multi-task, think fast and be creative
- Ability to work with a diverse group of people, including Cast Members from various Unions
- Leadership ability - work closely with and mentor hourly cast members.
- Ability to interface with all levels of management
- Ability to tackle problems under high pressure and maintain a positive attitude.
- Dedication to the Walt Disney Company - values, missions, heritage and Walt Disney World standards in Guest Service
- Strong understanding of and passion for Disney Character Brand Integrity
- Ability to handle complicated situations (i.e. guest recovery situations and third party client issues)
- Proven written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Schedule availability to include weekends, variable shifts, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Disney Character Corporate Use Guidelines
- Knowledge of Walt Disney World collective bargaining agreements
- Eligible to participate in the WDW Corporate Credit Card Program
- Proven knowledge and understanding of Company policies and procedures, the Service Trades Council Agreement and WDW Travel and Business policies
Education
- High school degree or equivalent experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in theatre studies, fine arts, or other relevant Degree is preferred.
