Job Summary:

MPS is seeking an ESG Analyst and Corporate Development Support for the legal and corporate development team. This role is primarily focused on the development of cohesive policies and messaging over new business relationships regarding environmental and social data. You will be responsible for collaborating with the corporate development team in establishing and executing ESG related policies, procedures, and external reporting projects.


Essential Functions
:

MPS is seeking someone with a keen eye for detail, organization, and adaptable within a fast-paced environment. You get personal satisfaction from analyzing problems and delivering solutions to improve the business and can perform the following functions:

  • Collect, analyze, and present relevant information to corporate development team on ESG related matters, including benchmarking analyses, news releases, and issue-specific research.
  • Support due diligence procedures within ongoing M&A projects, specifically regarding ESG corporate correspondence and policy development.
  • Preparation of professional documentation supporting the enhancement of MPS environmental and social initiatives.
  • Assists in the development of ESG strategy, communications, and reporting projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of public disclosures, including within the ESG reporting frameworks, SEC disclosures, and other reporting bodies
  • Support company’s responses to third-party evaluators, rating and ranking organizations including ISS, MSCI, CDP, etc.
  • Stay up-to-date with reporting frameworks and standards, as well as rating agency expectations; identify gaps between stakeholder expectations and company reporting.
  • Effectively communicate with various internal and external stakeholders related to inquiries and requests for ESG information; collaborate with colleagues/subject matter experts to obtain relevant information.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to facilitate ESG-related campaigns.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience. A degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting preferred but not required
  • Two or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in business development, ESG ratings agencies, or proxy advisors.
  • Project management experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A high degree of analytical capability with the proven ability to structure a business case around a high-level strategic vision
  • Great attention to detail and ability to analyze data, leveraging information to provide clear, concise and supported recommendations for action
  • Strong presentation and collaboration skills and an ability to engage with stakeholders at any level in the business
  • Experience with non-financial reporting (i.e., environmental or human capital metrics)
  • Familiarity with ESG reporting frameworks and recommendations (i.e., GRI, TCFD, CDP)
  • Experience with ESG ratings and rankings including ISS, MSCI, CDP, etc. Familiarity with ESG ratings and rankings portals
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Pay is based on market location and may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education and other job-related reasons. The base salary range for this position in California is $90,000 - $120,000.
