The Savannah Yacht Center Estimator/Contract Administrator will correspond with the customer and internal staff to accurately develop the scopes of work for each project. A successful Estimator will create and present estimates, dockage contracts, and high-level scheduling expectations for multiple luxury yacht projects.

JOB EXPECTATIONS/DUTIES

• Responsible for corresponding with the customer to develop project scope of works in a professional manner.
• Responsible for developing and delivering customer estimates.
• The Estimator will complete and deliver dockage contracts.
• Be the point of contact for writing additional work requests by vessels after arrival.
• Travel to vessels for “Ship Checks” to gather the necessary information on the scope of work.
• Responsible for some high-level scheduling at the estimate and contract stage to ensure customer timeline can be met internally.
• Contribute to material and sub-contract sourcing for estimation purposes.
• Develop estimates for various internal Yard projects.
• Other Duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or other related field.
• 3+ years professional experience estimating in a shipyard environment.
• 5+ years’ professional experience estimating in yacht maintenance and repair.
• Reading & comprehending blueprints preferred.
• CPR Certification preferred.
• OSHA Safety & Rigging Certifications preferred (10-hour Maritime: Shipyard Employment).
• Must be dependable, work as a team player and have a strong work ethic.
• Ability to start and complete assigned tasks with a high level of quality in a timely and efficient manner.

Applicant may be subject to environmental conditions such as cold, heat, exposure to noise, hazards, and confined spaces/close quarters. Applicant must be aware of work environment at all times.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, use hands and fingers, handle tools or controls, and talk or hear others. The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
