Nautical Ventures Events Staff

Position Summary:
The Events Staff is part of the Marketing team. This role contributes to the success of the company by assisting in the coordination, instillation and dismantle of Boat Shows, Marketing Events & other related activities. Position is based out of the Fort Lauderdale Head office.
This is an entry-level foundational position and will report directly to the Marketing Events Manager.
Major Duties Include:
- Coordinates a team during setup and breakdown of events. Ensure safety and zero damage to product or show equipment. Ability to read, understand and follow through with plan and schedule set out by Events Manager.
- Organizes all Boat show and event POP materials. Gathering items, allocating, installing and return after an event.
- Inventory management and control of all Boat show materials and marketing fixtures and in the warehouse. (signage, furniture, props, catalogs, marketing materials & promotional items)
- Cross-checks and accounts for all POP and products returned from each show/event. Sends a report to the Marketing Events Manager after each event of any damage, deterioration or action required.
- Assists with visual merchandising in the showroom and provides support as needed (moving furniture and/or making space)
- Travels as needed within Florida to coordinate or assist with event set-up and tear down.
- Supports other duties and projects as assigned by the Marketing Events Manager.
- Promote our NVG Culture in all interactions.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this role, the team member is frequently required to stand, walk, talk and hear. The team member frequently is required to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The team member is frequently required to sit; The team member must often lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision.
- Must be able to tolerate conditions associated with no air conditioning or heat, Sunshine, rain and other outdoor elements.
- Must have a Valid US driver’s license with clean driving record and a reliable method of personal transport
- Applicant cannot have a prior criminal record in any state or country
- Must be able to pass a mandatory pre employment drug screening and random drug tests during employment
- Must be able to periodically work weekends, late evenings, early mornings and Holidays
- Must be able and willing to work unexpected hours without notice, when needed, to achieve event setup or tear down deadlines.
Required Education and Experience:
- 2+ year’ experience in Boat Shows and Events.
- 1+ year’ experience in the Boating or watersports Industry in any capacity required.
- Experienced in towing boats and trailers up to 30’ in length.
- Wood working experience, design interest, ability to read plans and construction drawings required.
- Experience in building above ground pools, plumbing, building maintaining boat docks a plus.
