Responsibilities:
Leadership is the key to success with this position.
This position reports to the Facilities Director. Responsible for the management of all aspects of laundry, custodial and engineering staff from staffing, payroll, developing and managing departmental operating budgets.
Operations: Responsible for executing and overseeing building projects within facilities, engineering, laundry and custodial areaa. Schedules and supervises all Canyon Ranch maintenance, alterations and construction projects as needed. Manage department level programs including production checklists, financial controls, and inventories. Ensures that all areas operate within budget constraints.
Staff Supervision: Responsible for the supervision of the engineering trades, facility engineering and grounds staff. Select, hire, train, schedule, counsel, and conduct performance reviews for staff directly reporting to manager. Ensures consistency of performance and service standards. Ensures appropriate job skills and safety training are conducted regularly. Supervisory responsibilities will include the following: Electrical/Mechanical/HVAC; Memberships/Building Trades/Electronics; Hotel/Public Buildings/On-Call Staff; or Critical Eye/CMMS/Capital Projects. Maintains a professional leadership style while managing the day to day operations of the E&G Department.
Partnerships: Supervises and provides general oversight of outside contractors.
Communication: Communicates planned work in all areas and facilitates agreed upon work dates/times with operating departments. Regular and effective communication with facilities director and property management team. Participates in departmental meetings ensuring that information is effectively ‘passed along’ to appropriate departments providing smooth operation of department and facility. Maintains good communication throughout Canyon Ranch.
Safety: Ensures a safe environment for colleagues and guests; schedules regular training, develops, implements and ensures standards for key control and safety related topics are maintained, conducts training on personal protective equipment, Hazmat and proper equipment handling, performs weekly property inspections with Facilities Director to identify & schedule work for areas identified as needing attention.
Qualifications:
10 years' experience in related field, such as Hospitality or Construction. Prefer 2 - 3 years' management experience in trades with supervision of 5 or more team members. Demonstrated proficiency working with Engineering maintenance systems.
