The Original Oyster House - Gulf Shores location is looking for a temporary General Maintenance Worker that has open availability to work days, afternoons, weekends and holiday shifts. Must have five years' maintenance experience.

This position is on a temporary basis. Expected duration is approximately 6 months, with a rate of pay at $16.00 an hour. Overtime may be required during peak season.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician.
• Responsible for repairing drywall, painting, power washing, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
• Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
• Promptly report issues to the facilities manager.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently, independently or part of a team.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.
• Must be punctual for all scheduled shifts and have open availability to work a variety of hours including days, weekends and holidays.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Must have attention to cleanliness and safety.
• Must be able to manage time accordingly, based on operational needs.
• Ability to follow instructions from management and/or senior maintenance workers.
• Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
• Must have excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.

Physical requirements include:

• Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (at least 6+ hours or the duration of your scheduled shift).
• Must be able to walk, move, balance, carry, bend, twist, lift, stoop, and reach frequently.
• Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, and crawl into tight and/or awkward spaces.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Manual dexterity of both hands to complete assigned tasks.
