Seeking a GIS Analyst for an opportunity in Columbia, SC.

Scope of work:

• Migrate Oracle Spatial database maintained through GeoMedia to a SQL database maintained through ESRI Roads and Highways on-premise.
• This project will include the conversion of the database and a software upgrade.

Responsibilities and daily duties:

• Produce digital/hard copy maps in advanced GIS/Mapping applications
• Perform GIS data collection, maintenance and analysis
• Update database tables to reflect changes to the GIS features used in GIS analysis and in mapping as assigned by the supervisor.
• Perform quality control on the new and existing data to maintain correctness and spatial accuracy standards
• Assist in the development and maintenance of procedure manuals
• Completes software/procedures research/testing as assigned by the manager
• Performs related tasks as assigned by the manager.

Work location:

• It is expected that the candidate works 40-hour 5-day week in the Columbia, South Carolina Headquarters Building between 7 am and 6 pm with a half hour to an hour lunch between 11 am and 2 pm on the days the Department is open for business.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• Knowledge and experience working with GIS mapping software and applications.
• Experience working with a spatial database.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.

Preferred:

• Knowledge and experience with ArcGIS Pro.
• Experience with an SQL database.

Education/equivalency:

• Bachelor’s degree;
• OR, 4 years of related work experience in lieu of a degree

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Salary: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
