SUMMARY

The primary purpose of the Graphic Designer is to develop and produce Point of Sale materials as requested by the Sales Department in an accurate and timely manner by performing the following duties.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Produce P.O.S. materials in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain request forms for P.O.S.
  • Manage all incoming POS and Merchandising materials from suppliers and outside sources.
  • Keep sign shop and P.O.S. rooms clean, orderly and organized.
  • Keep all sign shop, and other assigned equipment, properly maintained.
  • Order supplies as needed.
  • Work in market as requested by Sales Manager.
  • Obtains P.O.S. information needs from sales department personnel.
  • Develop creative ideas for POS to fit customer or special event needs.
  • Proficient with appropriate “sign shop” computer programs and equipment, including industrial printers.
  • Graphic designer background, or training with skills in document layout, production and finishing.
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to multi-task jobs efficiently and handle a wide variety of graphical tasks.
  • Maintain sign shop spending within department budgets.
  • Bring a high level of creativity, attention to detail, and ability complete projects within tight timeframes and manage multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Obey all federal, state and local laws, as well as brand guidelines as specified by our suppliers.
  • Adhere to company dress code and be properly groomed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge of a specialized field, graphic design and production. Equivalent to a high school degree plus additional broad specialized training.


EXPERIENCE

Two-year degree or certificate from college or technical school; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


EQUIPMENT

Ability to operate typical “sign shop” equipment including software and hardware used in a typical graphic design workshop or sign making shop.


COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES

Diversified duties involving an intense knowledge of a specialized field (graphic design and production) and the use of a wide range of procedures. Requires the use of judgement and creative thinking within the limits of standard practice and procedures.


SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Under general supervision where standard practice enables the employee to proceed alone on regular duties, referring questionable case to supervisor or others.


RESPONSIBILITY FOR ERRORS

Probable errors usually detected in succeeding operations and generally confined to a single department or phase of company operations. Most work verified and checked. Corrections may involve backchecking by others and some minor monetary losses.


CONTACT WITH OTHERS

Contacts with other persons within the department on routine matters or occasional contacts with other departments or outside the company, furnishing or obtaining information requiring only ordinary tact and courtesy.
