Nuvance Health has a network of convenient hospitals and various ambulatory locations with primary and specialty care including Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut, and Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York.
Summary:
HIM Technicians are responsible for prepping, scanning, quality control of all ambulatory paper medical documents into the imaging system. Perform indexing and quality control of medical group scanned and inbound fax documents.
Responsibilities:
- Process electronic fax documents for primary care and specialty ambulatory practices
- Prep and assemble hard copy data for QC (quality control)
- Perform quality control review on documents throughout the stages of prepping, scanning and indexing and makes necessary corrections upon identification of errors
- Perform scanning/index process and maintain set up for scanners to ensure optimal image quality
- Perform qualitative record review using audit review tool to monitor if documentation in the medical record is in compliance with all regulatory agency standards
- Achieve and maintain established HIM Tech level accuracy and productivity standards
- Identify serious quality issues in the on-line record/EMR and take appropriate action
- Trouble shoot routine scanning software and hardware issues
- Communicate scanner maintenance issues to manager/supervisor
- Establish customer service expectations, teamwork, safety and self-development
- Fulfill all compliance responsibilities
- Properly complete projects as assigned
Requirements:
- Data entry
- Medical terminology and prior medical office or hospital experience
- Demonstrate ability to follow policy and procedures
- Perform both independently and in a team environment
- Perform computer functions in both windows and web-based environments
- Demonstrate decision-making ability, attention to detail and quality, strong interpersonal skills; team-oriented, and highly organized
- Minimum experience 1-year
Education:
- HS Graduate or Equivalent

Work Shift: 7:00am-3:30pm OR 8:00am - 4:30pm (Monday through Friday)
