Job description
The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day HR Support for a given location. This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service related to internal and externalinquiries, collaboration with peers and operations in order to respond to general inquiries, driving employee engagement and support.
- Partner with the HR Coordinator and others to respond to employee questions, concerns and assist in resolution of day-to-day issues/needs.Provide back-up when HR Coordinator is out of office.
- Be a student of the business, using knowledge, partnership and collaboration in order to support the business from an HR perspective.
- Serve as the facility liaison regarding benefits. Communicate benefit information through open enrollment, including the distribution of printed and electronic material. Partner with corporate benefits department on employee inquiries.
- Manage the leave of absence policy and meet with employees one on one regarding eligibility. Review and approve FMLA, track required paperwork and follow up on issues. Partner with corporate and outside vendorsas needed.
- Review and take the lead on returning employees with work restrictions.
- Provide support and partner with security to manage workers compensation instances.
- Research and respond to unemployment claims within appropriate deadlines and partner with HR Manager when necessary.
- Answer a variety of employee service inquiries related to taxes, benefits, unemployment, verification process, rehire process, employee discount, open positions, employee events, direct deposit, payroll advances, etc.
- Lead the efforts of maintaining corrective action, maintaining files and preparedness to produce information readily when needed.
- Coordinate employee surveys in order to facilitate retention and employee satisfaction.
- Actively involved in exit interviews, gaining insight and fostering employee retention and overall job satisfaction.
- Completes employee garnishments in partnership with the payroll team.
- Manage non-peak projects both individually and as a part of a larger team to improve current practices.
- Maintain Departmental Confidentiality.
- Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements:- Education – High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree or SHRM Certification preferred.
- Experience – 2-4 years administrative experience with 1+ year human resources experience. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint and ADP
- knowledge experience preferred. Able to prioritize tasks independently and meet tight deadlines. Proven customer service, organizational and project management skills desired.
- Human Resources — Knowledge of principles and procedures for talent acquisition, selection, training, compensation and benefits, positive employee relations, and HRIS systems.
- Administration and Leadership — Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Ability to Meet Deliverables - Able to work at a fast pace with an attention to detail, while focused on providing excellent customer service.
