Up to $13,500 bonus incentive for 2022 calendar year*
IAM Hourly represented employees who currently work at the main (Sunnyvale/Palo Alto) unit, Santa Cruz, VAFB, or Eastern Range Facilities must apply to open requisitions on Brass Ring to be considered for this position.
This position is anticipated to remain in our Santa Cruz, CA facility until Q3 2024. At that point in time the work will be moved to other facilities across the country. We are committed to the work that needs to be done in Santa Cruz in between now and then. This position may be eligible for a retention incentive plan. The hiring leader in charge of this role will be able to share more specific information tied to the move of this position during the interview process.
Inspect and accept or reject, at the process or completed stages, ordnance assemblies such as ordnance harnesses consisting of detonation cord, squibs, charge caps, couplings, installation clips, brackets or similar devices, sleeving and related items; inspect for attributes such as proper identification and assembly or installation, location of parts, dimensions and workmanship, working from blueprints, shop orders, inspection instructions and other similar authorized documents.
Similarly inspect parts and materials prior to assembly, solder joints, swaged attachments, stitch welds and other assembly and fabrication operations; inspect incorporation of design changes.

Use magnifying equipment, hand tools, vernier calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, resistance meter (Alinco or similar) and leak checking (Veeco or similar) apparatus.
Inspect potting operations, including verifications of ingredient proportions, cleaning of potting molds and items to be potted, positioning of items in molds and curing; inspect installations and assembly of re-entry body assemblies working from blueprints, and utilizing measuring instruments such as those mentioned above.
Stamp or otherwise approve acceptable items; reject unacceptable items; prepare documentation for disposition of unacceptable items. Complete all inspection records and related documentation.

These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

- Knowledge of inspection forms and procedures.
- Ability to read blueprints covering the type of items inspected.
- Knowledge of assembly work characteristic of the Ordnance Assembler and Missile Body Assembler occupations.
- Ability to use measuring instruments and equipment such as that mentioned in the Work Performed section above.
