Based in West Hartford, CT, Triumph’s Electronics and Control division employs approximately 530 personnel. Triumph is a leading independent supplier of fuel, actuation, and thermal management systems for the commercial, military, helicopter, and business jet markets. The Company works closely with both airframe and gas turbine engine manufacturers to supply critical components for their applications. Key products include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units, flow dividers, main fuel pumps, compressors, vapor cycle cooling and refrigeration systems, and actuation systems for both the OE and aftermarket/spares end markets.
Triumph is actively recruiting a Summer 2023 Materials Engineering intern to primarily support REACh compliance reporting on multiple programs. The internship will provide a college-level student with practical experience related to his or her major that will enhance and complement classroom learning. In addition, at the West Hartford facility, the student will gain exposure to other materials engineering responsibilities related to highly engineered aerospace components. Responsibilities Review component drawings, SDS information, and supplier provided information. Perform assessments related to REACh and other regulatory reporting requirements. Collaborate with Materials Engineering, Product Engineering, Supply Chain and Drafting to collect and compile information for customer compliance reporting. Use in-house tools to assist materials engineers with evaluations related to component failure analysis, product examinations, and materials characterization. Qualifications Rising college Junior or Senior Minimum GPA of 3.0 Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field Self-motivated with the ability to work independently Excellent writing, analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Good interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels in the organization Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Experience with NX software a plus Candidates must be a US Citi zen or a US Permanent resident
