Carlisle Construction Materials (CCM), is a global leader in the building materials industry. We’ve been around since 1917. In just the past year, our company has grown by nearly 70%.We have immediate openings on the night shift for full-time Maintenance Technicians at its Franklin Park, IL location. This position will be responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical systems within a manufacturing environment.
Pay Range: $33.00 to $40.00 per hour
Primary responsibilities include:
- Maintain and repair mechanical and electrical systems on industrial/manufacturing machinery
- Repair and maintain plant machinery and equipment such as mixers, conveyors, compressors, and pumps; repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, etc.
- As needed; perform work order repairs, inspections and adjustments; able to set up and operate power tools, drill motor, circular saw, welders, drill press, bench grinder, band saw; hand tools and other metalworking equipment; fabrication and modification of new and existing equipment
- Trouble shoot mechanical and electrical breakdowns
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks on plant equipment
- Identify opportunities for improvement (problem areas) and participate in their resolution.
- Participate in planning activities and manage various plant utilities including chiller, air compressor, cooling tower, security system & fire protection system
- Complete daily process work order data, initiate purchase requisitions and utilize equipment and process documentation. Plan & execute minor projects on an as-needed basis
- Support CMMS through work order documentations, spare parts and inventory system support and utilization
- Actively participate and support plant safety, health, and environmental programs.
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of an accredited apprentice program, technical school program, a college degree in the electrical field or minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as an industrial manufacturing maintenance technician
- Three to five years minimum maintenance experience; maintenance technician with knowledge of with hydraulics, pneumatics, basic electrical, troubleshooting and repair of production equipment including 480v, 3phase electric to 24vdc, communication wiring, working knowledge of PLCS's, ladder logic and relay logic, VFD motors/controls, pumps, motion controls, Servo drives, HMI program logic, welding and pipefitting. General mechanical skills and schematic/blueprint reading necessary
- SAP Knowledge and experience is a plus
- Ability to Weld is a plus
- Good Communication, oral, written and math skills
- Ability to perform all general maintenance repairs responsibilities without problems (climbing ladders, lifting up to 65lbs, work in and around tight areas, work on and with booms and scissor lifts)
- Ability to work 8 to 12-hour shifts, up to 6 days per week during busy season
