Will redesign processes to meet cost objectives, component technology obsolescence and customer requirements. Participates actively in new product introduction, including influencing the design of the processes to ensure manufacturability and accommodation of the global supply chain, testing the NPI process, and managing the transition into production. Supports and implements the transition of products and manufacturing processes from prototype to full production and through the entire life cycle of the product. Partners with procurement, order management and technical services to improve/sustain products and processes. May direct the work of third-party vendors and/or partners to meet contract specified deliverables, performance, or business objectives. May work with suppliers to ensure achievement of goals for cost, quality and delivery of parts and materials. Will identify and manage ERP data such as bill of material and routing. Plans, evaluates, and recommends technical, quality and cost specifications to meet process design and business growth objectives and supply chain optimization. Implement lean principles to factory processes to distribute resources of labor, machine time, material, and floor space. Work with internal partners to meet quality, cost, and manufacturability goals. Implement and maintain process flows and layouts within strict constraints.
· Receives and develops approaches to assignments
· Participates in development projects requiring coordination with team members, other functions, suppliers
· Solves a broad range of problems varying in scope and complexity, under short deadlines, in support of instrument lines and NPI timetables
· Significant amount of ERP work to transform factory data for usability according to customer requirements
· Requirements:
· B.S. or M.S. (preferred) in Industrial Engineering. Typically 3-4 years relevant experience for entry to this level.
· Must work well in a team environment
· Must be able to work full time on-site in Santa Clara to support manufacturing lines
· Must possess strong organizational, time management, and task execution skills
· Must be able to work effectively on both short and extended timetables
· Must have strong ERP and data management and traceability project skills and experience
· Requires general proficiency with tools, systems, and procedures to accomplish job
· Good interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts and work with other internal and external organizations
· Good teamwork, presentation and communication skills
· Desired skills:
· Expert level understanding of Oracle ERP
· Experience with factory modeling software for use in layouts
· Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Design for Supply Chain
· Ability to run discrete event simulation
· Exposure to ergonomic studies
· Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques
· Basic knowledge of systems engineering
