Hamilton Marine is the largest marine store in New England. It was started 45 years ago in Wayne and Loraine Hamilton’s Searsport garage. Hamilton marine has grown to six locations throughout the state of Maine, with stores in Searsport, Portland, Rockland, Southwest Harbor, Jonesport and Kittery. We sell to boat builders, recreational boaters, commercial fishermen, divers, and industrial mariners.
Close to 200 people are employed among the six stores. Dress is casual, the atmosphere is friendly and family-like, and the work is diversified and demanding. Customers, who share our interest in boats and things marine, can shop in our stores, from our 376-page catalog, and through our Internet Store. Our catalog is sent all over the world.
Most job duties fall within departments: Store, Administrative and Support Operations. However, every employee has the opportunity to work in any department as well as other Hamilton Marine locations on a temporary basis. Our people go where the business needs them.

Job Description
Are you looking to further your career in advertising? If so, then look no more! Hamilton Marine is searching for just the right person to join our Marketing Department. Our team does it all, from maintaining the website and social media outlets to developing our catalog and traveling to trade shows! Customer service is also an essential function of this in-person position in Searsport, ME and includes assisting phone sales with order taking & warehouse/store support with picking, packing and more.

Essential Functions

- Assist in the creation and production of advertising various media including, but not limited to print, digital, radio & television
- Proofreading, filing, data entry, general organizing & website maintenance
- Support warehouse & store with picking, packing and phone sales
- Order taking and customer service
- Comfortable working in fast paced, deadline oriented environment
- Willing and able to contribute to lively, creative sessions for developing sales strategies, marketing campaigns and various other marketing related projects
Competencies
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign & Photoshop required)
- Experience with Microsoft Office (preferred)
- Experience working in Marketing or Advertising related field (required)
- Proficient in language, communication and graphic arts
- Strong organizational skills & highly motivated to work
- Customer service experience a plus
