SUMMARY:
Oir client has an exciting opportunity for a Material Project Manager at their Centennial, CO location. The selected candidate will lead the Procurement aspects of the Integrated Product Team in order to develop a cohesive procurement strategy and solutions to meet Space Systems Division's requirements and goals. Space Systems is pushing the bounds of what is possible in space -whether deploying constellations of interconnected satellites from low Earth orbit and throughout the cislunar volume, or developing a Nuclear Thermal Propulsion engine to take future explorers further into the solar system.

The well-qualified candidate will act as the primary representative for Procurement to internal stakeholders, such as Program Office, Production Control, and Manufacturing relative to procurement strategy, demand signaling and processing, Order placement and delivery status, as well as ensure all Space System programs are receiving support and status from the Procurement function.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides a single Procurement POC responsible for overseeing one or more project(s), serving as the liaison between project management, senior management and customer representatives on matters of significance.
  • Proactively mitigates schedule risk due to parts/Supply Chain issues; identify and develop mitigation strategies/options.
  • Assesses project issues and develops solutions to meet procurement goals and objectives.
  • Defines and communicates a cohesive procurement strategy to internal stakeholders.
  • Typically accomplishes tasks collaboratively, across teams.
  • Develops and reviews Supply Chain metrics, tools and mechanisms to monitor project progress, and for intervention and problem solving.
  • Responsible for decisions which have a serious impact on the overall success of the division.
  • Oversees the development of project plan(s) and manages resources to ensure project schedule, budget, quality and specification goals are attained.
  • Oversees and monitors project schedule, timelines, and milestones from initiation to delivery to meet delivery goals.
  • Develops and/or reviews various Supply Chain metrics/tools.
  • Represents PMO concerns to Procurement, translates priorities to Buyers/SCAs and their Management.
  • Represents Procurement requirements and concerns to PMO.
  • Facilitates a comprehensive and proactive source selection process.
  • Directs the coordination of cross-functional teams to assign and prioritize tasks focused on delivering new or upgrading existing products and/or services.
  • Applies a working knowledge of contract management principles and relevant FAR and DFARS, including contract type, financing, price analysis, source selection, and appropriate terms and conditions.
  • Identifies and assesses project issues and develop solutions to meet business objectives.
  • Effectively communicates project expectations and objectives to team members and stakeholders in a timely fashion.
  • Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Responsible for ensuring all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations are observed wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Responsible for ensuring work is accomplished in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Typically requires a Bachelors in Business Administration or related discipline and thirteen or more years of progressively complex experience in the project administration or Procurement/Supply Chain field with at least seven of those years in project management. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Must demonstrate an extensive understanding of project management processes and procedures, planning and scheduling methods, and budget management as well as the ability to organize, schedule, and coordinate workloads to meet established milestones and budgets.
  • Must be able to identify issues, analyze and interpret data and develop solutions to a variety of non-routine issues of diverse scope and nature.
  • Strong analytical, communication, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required.
