Job description
As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office/hospital. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Greets patients and escorts them from the waiting room to exam rooms.
- Interviews patient and documents past and present medical history and reason for the visit.
- Schedules patients for diagnostic tests.
- Maintains neat and clean working environment, cleaning and stocking supplies at the end of each clinic and according to the schedule or as needed.
- Signs in and out injectable solutions in accordance with set protocol.
- Scans documents into EHR.
- Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.
- Assists physicians in preparing for examinations and minor procedure.
- Dispose of sharps and contaminated items according to OSHA guidelines.
- Performs all other tasks and projects assigned by the Medical Assistant Supervisor or the Operations Manager.
- Follows HIPAA guidelines in accordance with our policy.
- May be required to travel to satellite clinics
Skills
- Proven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and priorities work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software
- Degree in medical assistance
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
