Job Summary:
The engineer will work to provide a strong level of engineering expertise in planning, coordinating and monitoring all production and workover activities of vertical and horizontal wells and facilities within the assigned area.
Job Duties:
- Review production data and well history: decline curves, cumulative, ratios, etc., by well, groups of wells, leases and/or field. Identify remedial stimulation, recompletion zones and other profit enhancement work by use of both company operated production and costs and by reviewing offset or nearby well performance. Request tests and data to verify ideas.
- Review and monitor operating costs to identify areas of needed improvement. Propose changes to accomplish cost savings that enhance the overall profit. Incumbent should use standard bench marking costs as a part of analysis.
- Write detailed procedures for rig workovers, routine well work, and artificial lift installations to aid in cost efficiency and goal accomplishment. Handle non-routine jobs, a variety of depth ranges and varied completion techniques.
- Prepare detailed AFE cost estimates for workovers, equipment changes and construction.
- Assist Production Foreman in scheduling and monitoring of drilling, completion, workovers, equipment changes and construction. Onsite supervision and regular field visits are required.
- Design of artificial lift equipment, wellhead, and pumps to optimize field gas gathering, liquids production, and water handling.
- Performs other/additional duties as assigned by Supervisor
- Internal applicants should meet all eligibility requirements per employee handbook.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor Degree in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline required.
- Knowledge of different types of artificial lift. Past experience with well diagnostics and artificial lift optimization.
- Proven project management skills with sense of urgency and ability to meet timelines.
- Must be able to work with field supervision, geologists, reservoir engineers, drilling engineers, completions engineers, facility engineers, HSE department, Procurement, and Land as an inter-disciplinary field development team.
- Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written, be well organized, have good people skills, and demonstrate good computer skills.
- Must exhibit a solid commitment to safety and the communication of safe operating practices.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
