Job Summary: The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is a professional who is responsible for providing patient care under the supervision and direction of the supervising physical therapist(s). The PTA is responsible for implementing and documentation of interventions and patients’ responses to treatments. He/she collaborates with supervising physical therapists and other members of the interdisciplinary health care team to provide continuity of care. The PTA may assist the PT in the delegation of tasks to appropriate individuals including technicians and students. The PTA must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate patient care and is accountable to the policies and procedures of the organization. He/she is responsible to the Director of Rehabilitation Services.

Job Requirements:

Graduate of a professional Physical Therapist Assistant education program accredited by the Commission of Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) required.

Current Physical Therapist Assistant certificate from the State of Nebraska required.

Basic Life Support (BLS) obtained within one full month from date of hire required.

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language required.

Current, valid driver's license issued in the state of legal residence required.

Operate FRHS owned vehicles required.
