Reports to: CFO
Solvent Direct is on track to open 4 new locations across the US over the next 18 months and we are looking for someone ready for a unique opportunity to help build an industry-leading supply company which services one of the fastest growing industries in the world!
The Solvent Direct Procurement Specialist is responsible for inventory replenishment and procurement across all locations in the US. This position will ensure inventory is maintained at all branches based on branch needs and sales trends. This includes the weekly counts, branch management coordination, dispatch of our tractor trailer and shipping coordination of vendor and 3rd party freight carriers.
Inventory Replenishment and Branch transfers - Position is ultimately responsible for ensuring that the branches have the inventory needed while minimizing lead times and costs as best as possible.
Job Duties:
- Monitor all branch inventory levels and trends. Forecast inventory needs at branches and order/plan accordingly.
- Communicate with and submit purchase orders from quickbooks directly to vendors to replenish inventory at all branches
- Inform logistics department/pertinent people and departments of inventory delays and status
- Coordinate internal company shuttles/transfers to replenish inventory as needed
- Add pertinent information to Mother for logistics to track inventory movements (both internal and external movements)
- Communicate with CFO/Accounting to make payments to vendors if necessary to get inventory moving
- Communicate with Sales team to understand inventory needs and forecasts in each specific market and order inventory accordingly
- Communicate with sales team to submit purchase orders for LTL shipments when drop-shipping directly from vendor to customer
- Search out new vendors/products to help improve overall profitability of company and efficiency of company
- Monitor and coordinate branch empty cylinder levels. Ensure that branches are palletizing them as needed and when necessary transferring between branches so that we are getting them to the necessary fill companies as efficiently and cost effectively as possible. This includes but is not limited to LP gas for Kaplan, Specialty.
- Work with local branches and sales team to ensure the company has a constant supply of Nitrogen - both compressed and liquid for local fills. C02 - both liquid and compressed for local fills. Bulk C02 for dry ice production
- Coordinate all intercompany inventory shuttles/transfers/movements- including but not limited to tractor trailer and other truck movements, Specialty/Bakersfield, Chemtek, Dry ice, Etc.
- Transitional responsibility is managing employee scheduling, overtime. This will be transitioned to ernie for sales and ops director for fulfillment side in time.
- Monitor and oversee fulfillment-staff scheduling and time tracking for most efficient use. Monitor driver and warehouse employee overtime and minimize as best as possible. This includes but is not limited to drivers, warehouse employees, etc.
- Monitor and coordinate as needed daily truck routing for most efficient routes of daily invoice deliveries.
- Monitor and establish regional days
Qualifications:
To perform the essential functions of this position successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following qualifications:
- Previous experience in data entry
- Strong logic and decision making skills
- 5+ years' expereince with computers and spreadsheets
- Previous customer service experience

Physical Work Conditions
- Drive an enclosed truck.
- Work outdoors and indoors. Indoor temperatures may not be controlled.
- Potential for exposure to contaminants, such as diesel fuel or exhaust.
- Wear protective or safety attire as required.
- Sometimes are exposed to hot or cold temperatures while working outside.
- Are sometimes exposed to hazardous situations that might produce minor cuts or scrapes.
- Are occasionally exposed to bright or dim lighting conditions.
- Are occasionally exposed to whole body vibration when driving a truck.
- Work close to others.

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
