The purpose of this position is to manage and define project scope, performance expectations, and initiatives that support ideal vendor selection decisions, contracting, and implementation in support of the Quality Department. The Vendor Project Manager is responsible for informing vendors of new responsibilities, facilitates vendor data integrations, and monitoring vendors' performance and compliance. Provides subject matter expertise in areas including project scope definition, risk identification, project methodology, resource allocation, facilitation, and other areas of expertise based on established project management techniques. Makes presentations to management on project updates, project cycle, and expected results. Ensures projects are completed on time and in scope. Additionally, Vendor Project Manager assists vendor programs development, design, and planning strategically and tactically to implement business objectives and goals. This role facilitates and ensures mutual understanding between vendors, physicians, and contracted networks as it relates to quality initiatives to close gaps in care for Medicare’s Star program. This position will work closely with key physician-partner organizations to develop long-term strategic relationships that support the WellMed Enterprise mission and vision to change the face of health care delivery for seniors with an emphasis on compliance and reporting requirements for HEDIS/Stars submissions. This position will assist the Quality Program Manager to be the liaison between WellMed and vendor organizations, providing training and project management and bridging the relationship between all key areas of the corporate team but primarily with Quality, Contracting, and Regional leadership.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Detail-oriented and adept at negotiating vendor contracts
- Multitasks effectively as well as demonstrate exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Prepares for and facilitates strategic business meetings with vendors, Quality Regional leadership, teams, and appropriate directors and vice presidents
- Acts as a liaison, problem solver, and facilitator between vendor, Quality Teams and Regional Partners
- Produces education tools and training for physician office staff, periodic re-training, and in response to provider issues on a timely basis
- Reviews data, develops recommendations, and reviews findings with senior management
- Examines, analyzes, develops, and presents a variety of performance results in addition to other pertinent communication. Makes presentations to management on project updates, project cycle, and expected results
- Establish/implement/comply with change management processes to drive effective project execution (e.g., launch, deployment, revisions, and change control)
- Identify project duration, effort, sequence, and dependencies of tasks required to meet applicable project objectives
- Develops and maintains detailed project plans. Ensures that project schedules include all tasks and activities necessary to achieve project objectives and that all project deliverables are identified and on track throughout the project lifecycle, and take appropriate action when needed
- Manage/monitor the testing process (e.g., end-to-end, SIT, UAT, load testing), and ensure defects are closed before deployment
- Ensure that new/revised business processes/procedures are documented/updated/approved, as needed (e.g., process flows, SOPs, job aids, training guides)
- Analyze project outcomes and make appropriate recommendations to improve project outcomes/processes going forward (e.g., stakeholder satisfaction, lessons learned, project team performance)
- Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or a related field required. (5+ years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree)
- 2+ years of related experience in managed care, vendor management or network development
- Solid working knowledge of Medicare health care operations and delegation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Outlook required. Working knowledge of Share Point
- Proven ability to successfully conceptualize an initiative, develop a plan, and execute the plan through implementation
- Demonstrated successful relationship management experience with the ability to interact one-on-one and consult with all levels of management
- Demonstrated ability to travel for work-related purposes as deemed necessary
Preferred Qualifications:
- Six Sigma Green Belt
- Project Management experience
- Health plan, healthcare, or clinic operations experience
Physical & Mental Requirements:
- Ability to push or pull heavy objects using up to pounds of force
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to properly drive and operate a company vehicle
