SUMMARY

Responsible for the year-round, preventive, and ongoing maintenance of all farm roadways to ensure managed weed abatement and safe means of travel for all farm equipment. Leads in the timely and proper application of chemicals, operation of heavy equipment for road maintenance tasks, and documentation of all chemical application data by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Operate 1-ton pick-up and spraying equipment to complete all roadside spraying for weed abatement purposes.

Maintain complete and accurate manual documentation of all data points related to chemical application including when, where, and quantity of chemicals applied, temperature, wind speed, and other weather-related factors.

Operate road grader, dump truck, and belly dump to complete proper grading of all gravel roadways on the farm. Operate front end loader and backhoe as needed for the completion of assigned tasks or projects.

Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment to include regular greasing, maintaining fluid levels, and reporting any machine operation variations for further diagnosis and repair.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Possess a valid Washington State Dept of Agriculture Private Applicator’s License, or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire.

Possess a valid state driver’s license.

Ability to prioritize duties based on needs, as well as easily shift if ever-changing weather conditions dictate.

Excellent record keeping skills.

Ability to forecast needed repairs/maintenance to ensure supplies are available.

Agriculture or heavy equipment operation experience is highly preferred but not required.

$22.52/hr, Plus annual incentive plan eligibility
