THE ROLE
We are looking for a Quality Control Technician to oversee quality assurance procedures and protocols as outlined by HBF Quality Management System (QMS), using a variety of statistical process control tools to verify conformity to standards (product, customer, and regulatory). The Quality
Technician’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to inspecting materials, processes, and products, ensuring compliance with new and existing quality standards and regulations, implementing quality management actions, and contributing to the development of company policies and procedures. The Quality Technician provides quality support to projects from the planning phase to project completion.
To be successful, the Quality Technician will be able to ensure that all materials, processes, and procedures meet quality standards and promptly, productively resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Perform quality inspections and audits on products and production processes, documenting and providing follow-up analyses; conduct routine comparisons of products against established standards
- Obtain samples and perform analytical testing to ensure conformance to specifications
- Review documentation and submit Certificates Of Analysis (COA) and Certificates Of Conformance (COC) to customers
- Coordinate and prepare setup packages and have them available for production; update and/or process new setups, master samples, and machine log sheets
- Assist in the development and implementation of quality alerts and work instructions (Standard Operating Procedures) for Manufacturing as needed
- Generate and maintain Process Control Records (PCR’s)
- Execute internal calibrations and coordinate the external calibration while maintaining a log
- Collaborate with any HBF department where quality assistance is required
- Participate in corrective and preventative actions for any internal and external quality opportunity
- Work with and train Quality Control Inspectors on proper procedures and protocols, re-training regularly and implementing/conducting new hire quality training
- Assist on any new product development process with Research & Development and Technical Sales teams
- Determine data-driven solutions and implement quality improvement plans.
- Perform regular inspections and reviews to ensure employees adhere to quality and safety policies.
- Assist with the development of company quality policies, processes, and procedures
- Providing departments with quality planning and support.
- Conduct or assist with regulatory and quality training sessions
- Prepare and maintain quality management documentation
QUALIFICATIONS | SKILLS | ABILITIES
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required
- 3+ years of experience as a Quality Control Inspector or Quality Assurance Technician in a manufacturing environment required
- 2+ years of experience working with Quality Management Systems; ISO 9001-2015 preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management systems
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation); must be able to read, write, and understand English; bilingual in Spanish a strong plus
- Excellent organizational skills; Strong attention to detail
- Self-directed and able to adapt to rapidly changing demands and priorities
- Ability to analyze and interpret technical information
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Must be willing and able to work overtime as needed
- Must be willing and able to work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment with Manufacturing team
