Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Manager, the Recruiting Coordinator will support the full life cycle of recruiting from requisition opening to offer acceptance, as well as oversee administration of Van Metre Companies' Summer Internship Program. With a focus on entry level and internship positions, this dynamic individual will support new initiatives in recruitment marketing and branding, reporting, and process improvement. This position will be a hybrid role: our team works in the Fairfax Corporate Office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and we work remotely the rest of the week. As Recruiting Coordinator, you will be required to attend in-person career fairs in Northern Virginia, Washington, DC, and Blacksburg, VA. You will also be required to attend occasional in-person meetings at our Ashburn and Winchester offices, as well as teambuilding events. Only local candidates will be considered for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Recruiting:
- Handle a requisition load of approximately ten positions, to include (but not limited to) Maintenance, Construction, and Architecture and Design
- Assist with recruiting processes, including editing/creating job postings, sourcing, screening, and managing ATS (Greenhouse Software)
- Coordinate and schedule in person and Teams interviews for Hiring Managers
- Serve as ATS (Greenhouse Software) administrator, including adding/editing users and providing training when necessary
- Perform administrative duties such as offer letter creation, sending assessments to candidates, and report generation
- Relationship Management:
- Forge new relationships with Facilities & Building Maintenance and Construction Training programs, as well as vocational and trade schools, tech schools, high schools, and other certification programs in the Northern Virginia area to create a pipeline for full time talent; foster and strengthen existing relationships
- Consistent reach out via calls, emails, visits will be required to maintain/strengthen relationships
- Manage existing college and university campus relationships, staying up to date on, registering for, and attending recruiting fairs and events, and finding creative ways to increase company brand presence on campuses
- Administration of Summer Internship Program:
- Assist with recruiting for Summer Interns (approximately 20-25 Interns each summer)
- Prepare Intern offer information and disseminate Welcome Packets to Intern hires
- Create and manage schedule for trainings and events for Interns
- Additional Duties:
- Assist with automation initiative to continually streamline and improve processes
- Partner with People Operations and Marketing Departments to create recruitment marketing strategy: promote Van Metre Companies Careers via social media (primarily LinkedIn and Facebook); use innovative methods to show what it's like to work at Van Metre and tell the story of what makes us a "Top Workplace"!
- Brainstorm on how to continue to make Recruitment at Van Metre best in class
- Attend industry events to network and learn new sourcing techniques
- Additional Duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Six months to one year recruiting experience required; agency recruiting experience strongly preferred
- Experience using an ATS (Greenhouse Software experience is not required)
- Live in Northern Virginia or surrounding DC Metro area, with the ability to attend in-person career fairs, meetings, and events
- Comfortable with using social media for recruitment
- Natural curiosity about technology and process improvement
- Superior customer service skills to include active listening and follow up
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Demonstrated professionalism
- Desire to continue to learn and grow
