The Registered Nurse (RN), Acute Care - Medical/Telemetry Inpatient Unit (2nd Floor) will work Regular Full-Time Various Shifts & Weekends and is accountable for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process.
- The Registered Nurse Assesses, plans, delivers, coordinates, integrates, and evaluates nursing care related to patient needs.
- Contributes to the support of patients through interdisciplinary teamwork.
- The Registered Nurse I status and job description is only appropriate for a new nurse in the first year of practice, as support from others in incorporated into this role as an expectation.
- Therefore, all The Registered Nurse I's are expected to complete the requirements of the Nurse Residency program and complete the application and credentialing process for successful advancement to RN II by 12-15 months after hire.

Qualifications:Education:
- Graduation from an accredited Baccalaureate, Associate or Diploma Professional Nursing program is required.
- NYS licensure as Registered Nurse or valid interim permit must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
- BLS certification or equivalent must be obtained within 30 days from start date.
- New graduate or less than 1 year experience as an RN.
- Ability to assess patient status and take appropriate action is required.
- Demonstrates competency in required nursing skills relevant to area of practice.
- Ability to multi-task effectively in a rapidly changing environment.
- Walking, standing, squatting and kneeling required throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift and position patients required.
- Category I risk exposure as defined by OSHA.
- Must be able to identify and differentiate colors.
