The IMCU, also known as 8B is primarily an adult pulmonary step-down unit, however also treats also cardiac, neuro and trauma patients requiring intermediate level of care. This unit hosts 24 private rooms and the team typically cares for patients who are mechanically ventilated via tracheostomy, zephyr valve post op, continuous BiPAP, High flow nasal cannula, pre/post cardiac catheterization, ablation, pacemaker and manage a multitude of cardiac drips. There are numerous skills utilized on this unit including basic dysrhythmia, good critical thinking and ACLS certification. Qualifications:

• RN Licensure with Reciprocity in the state of Virginia
• BLS for the Healthcare Provider CPR
• Telemetry or stepdown unit experience helpful

Job Responsibilities:

• Actively participates in working towards the organizational and departmental goals for providing exceptional patient experiences.
• Collaborates with patient and healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and/or evaluate patient's plan of care.
• Assures quality of care by adhering to industry standards and measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and benchmarks.
• Consistently assesses, identifies and addresses patient's educational needs and barriers to learning.
• Maintains safe working environment and patient safety by complying with hospital policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Demonstrates knowledge and technical skills to perform all duties required to care for patients.
