What makes VCA Family and OVSC unique:

VCA Family Animal Hospital and Oahu Veterinary Specialty Center is in Pearl City, less than ten miles northwest of Honolulu on the island of Oahu, Hawai’i.

This hybrid hospital consists of a full-service primary care department, emergency department, and specialty departments. VCA Family stands out by having an on-site CT scanner, two Internal Medicine Specialists, an Ophthalmologist, two Critical Care Specialists, Specialty Surgeon, laser therapy, and is open 24-hours a day/365 days per year. We also serve as an evacuation center to the island during emergencies. OVSC is one of only a few clinics across the country that perform lithotripsy. We accept interns and externs, as well as offer PAID Veterinarian- and Veterinary Technician- externships! We host training and continuing education for vendors, the police department, veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and local colleges.

Pearl City is centrally located and is easily the most accessible city on Oahu, a major hub for the military, department of defense, trade, international business, and travel. It is both a residential area and a go-to spot for everyday errands, appointments, and shopping needs. Pearl City is the merge point where all of Oahu’s major highways connect. It will also become one of the major stops for Oahu’s Rail Transit System once it is completed. To date, the construction of the rail has not impacted the hospital negatively as it has many other parts of the island.

Pearl City’s current population is approximately 48,000; there are 15,000 households and 7,500 families residing in Pearl City with the population density equaling 6,500 people per square mile. The resident’s household median income is above the Hawaii state average and their unemployment rate is considerably lower than the national average. The area is made up of long-time homeowners and military personnel. Like all of Hawaii there is a large mix of ethnic backgrounds, ages, and social classes. After Honolulu, it is the second largest populated city on Oahu. With its’ accessible location, excellent reputation, and limited Specialty and Emergency competition, VCA Family and OVSC is strategically located to succeed not only within Pearl City but for the entire island of Oahu and its almost 1 million residents. VCA Family & OVSC can market to and accommodate the island and can take referrals from the entire state and sometimes further.
