Job Description
The Myers-Lawson School of Construction at Virginia Tech is searching for a Research Associate for a funded research project within the Smart Systems Lab. This research is part of a workforce development project aimed at intelligently connecting the professional and educational communities to prepare the future construction engineering workforce. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to sponsor deliverables and scientific publications.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of master's degree in Construction Engineering and Management, Building Construction, or other closely related fields;
- Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative data collection, and analysis;
- Experience measuring user experience in web-based systems;
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in researching diversity of construction workforce;
- Experience conducting surveys, focus groups, and critical-incident interviews;
- Experience coding and managing complex longitudinal datasets;
- Expertise in emerging technologies for future construction workforce development;
- Publication record and strong communication skills;
- Self-motivated and able to work collaboratively.
