Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting

AWH is looking for a highly motivated accounting professional ready to make a big impact, grow their career, and leave their mark! AWH is searching for a Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting to prepare the Company’s SEC filings, including Form 10-Q and Form 10-K, and play an active role in ensuring the accuracy of all financial information disclosed externally. The Senior Accountant will also prepare, research, and analyze technical accounting matters.
Location: This position is Remote with preference to candidates located in: NJ, MA, NY, PA, CT
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing SEC reports and other filings, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, and other filing documents.
- Prepare various disclosures, including the financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A.
- Coordinate internal information requests, prepare supporting documentation, and compile information that supports SEC filings, including-out support.
- Own and perform certain quarterly processes that support our 10-Q/K disclosures, including assisting with the consolidation process.
- Review XBRL tagging of financial statements and footnotes.
- Assist in the coordination of the annual audit and quarterly review activities of external auditors.
- Assist in supporting the quarterly earnings release and investor updates, as applicable.
- Support a continuous improvement mentality by reviewing current processes and helping to suggest areas of improvement to facilitate a more efficient SEC and financial reporting process.
- Support other special projects, as assigned.
Technical Accounting Matters:
- Review complex transactions and assist in preparing accounting memos that will summarize the Company’s accounting positions.
- Perform accounting research on significant accounting transactions.
- Monitor new accounting pronouncements and assist in determining the impact on financial statements and disclosures.
- Perform disclosure research by reviewing examples of peer company financial statement disclosures.
- Ad hoc projects, as assigned.
