Summary:
As a Senior Community Manager, you will be instrumental in creating community strategy for one or more of Kongregate’s most popular projects. You’ll be an in-house expert on the community for your assigned title(s), managing direct reports and working with a multidisciplinary group to create fun and engaging experiences for players. You should be flexible, a stellar communicator, and ready to hit the ground running. Come join our small, spirited team where you can have an immediate impact.
Senior Community Manager Responsibilities:
- Manage direct reports in order to build a vibrant, enthusiastic community around your project(s).
- Establish and manage complex Discord(s), including strategic planning and multiple bot integrations. Develop fun, engaging experiences in Discord to drive community hype and participation.
- Design a high-level social media strategy while working within the game’s aesthetics and developer’s vision. Create content for social media channels as needed to execute the strategy.
- Develop and execute community contests and initiatives.
- Set standards and structures for moderation of Discord and game chat (if applicable). Directly or by delegation, select, train and manage moderators.
- Directly or by delegation, act as a liaison between the team and the community, posting official updates, changelogs, and other communications.
- Identify and consult with the project team on community and game issues. Communicate problems that may develop into issues with revenue, including player unrest, exploits, technical issues, and other feedback.
- Advocate for players to producers and developers; develop support strategies for live-servicing errors or crisis situations.
- Compile regular reports with ratings, social metrics, and community feedback as needed. Work with stakeholders to determine appropriate resourcing strategies.
You Have:
- Proficient written communication
- Some college education; degree preferred but not required
- 2+ years paid professional experience working with gamer communities
- 2+ years paid professional experience creating and managing social media content
- Expert knowledge of online game mechanics and community dynamics
- Expert ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others
- Expert ability to manage emotionally-charged disagreements through consensus building, relationship management, and the formation and presentation of logical, data-based arguments
- Expert project planning skills, including organizing and prioritizing responsibilities in an environment with potentially conflicting priorities
- Proficient ability to remain effective under stress, and respond to pressure in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization
- Proficient ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing priorities with promptness, efficiency and ease
Salary: $50,000-$80,000 DOE
