SUMMARY:
Responsible for the direct and indirect care and education of children. Maintains a clean environment that is necessary for the proper care and safety of children.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Attends Infant/Toddler CPR and first aid courses annually.
- Participates in weekly, monthly, and annual staff meetings as arranged by supervising Teacher, Assistant Director and/or Director.
- Attends all training activities as required by Administration, licensing units, and/or Staff Trainer.
- Participates in minimum 15 hours in-house and/or outside Early Childhood training annually, including out-of-town/overnight travel as required.
- Follows FCC Policy/Procedures manual and minimum licensing requirements for childcare centers.
- Abides by FCC Code of Conduct at all times.
- Complies with all DHS regulations contained within DHS Handbook.
- Directly supervises children at all times except specified breaks.
- Stays apprised of child's record information to ensure only authorized persons pick up child.
- Reports updates of child's record to Teacher and/or office staff.
- Reports any abuse/neglect signs to Teacher, Nurse, or next available Manager as soon as possible after discovery.
- Maintains required staff/child ratios during operating hours; reports out of ratio to Supervisor immediately.
- Assists with implementation of individual plan of care and maintains accurate/complete daily Progress Notes on children under care as assigned by supervising Teacher/Assistant Teacher.
- Records daily documentation in Credible of specific child objectives on the same day as service is provided. This task is to be completed prior to clocking out for the day.
- Completes required forms including Field Trip forms, Accident reports, Incident reports, cuddle grams, child abuse/neglect forms, and other forms as required.
- Follows all classroom schedules.
- Assists in field trip activities as needed.
- Assists/attends parent functions as scheduled.
- Interacts and engages with children at all times.
- Uses positive disciplinary/classroom management techniques at all times.
- Assures cleanliness/safety of work environment at all times.
- Assures cleanliness/safety of children in care at all times.
- Keeps children clean by wiping noses, faces, and hands as needed.
- Sends children home with clean/fully dressed appearance.
- Checks diapers often and changes immediately upon discovered need.
- Cleans children's bathroom as indicated.
- Keeps diaper changing area neat/clean (away from food preparation areas). Follows Diaper Changing Procedure at all times.
- Feeds children as needed/scheduled. Follows specialized instructions
- Assists in keeping room refrigerator clean. Responsible for food labeling/disposal.
- Assists in room pick up/cleaning as needed.
- Cleans up spills as occur.
- Sanitizes toys as needed by spraying with bleach/water combination and wiping clean. Places harder-to-clean toys in bleach/water solution (1/4 bleach to 1 gallon water).
- Helps clean walls, doorknobs, and light switches with appropriate chemicals as needed.
- Takes filled garbage bags to dumpster at end of day or as needed.
- Shares laundry responsibilities as scheduled by supervisor.
- Greets parents, children, and other staff in pleasant manner upon arrival/departure.
- Records childrens arrival/departure times and transfers times to Dahab documentation in Credible.
- Works cooperatively with parents/staff members to insure positive, productive atmosphere.
- Assists clients entering/exiting buses/cars daily as assigned.
- Must be available to work during negotiated days and times accordingly.
- This is a safety sensitive position.
Maintains confidentiality of all information received regarding Friendship Community Care, Inc., Senior Center programs, and clients. Conditions of confidentiality shall be in compliance with Friendship Community Care Non-Disclosure Policy and HIPAA Policies.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma and or GED preferred; preferably with one to three years experience and or training; or equivalent combination of both education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in oneonone and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds to waist and overhead. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
QUALITY ASSURANCE & COMPLIANCE: To adhere to the following and comply with all Quality Assurances & HIPAA procedures:
- The Code of Conduct and Compliance Investigation Procedures as read and discussed in the new employee training must be followed at all times.
- Consumers progress notes be maintained and completed daily or as needed on the prescribed forms.
- Consumers records must be maintained weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly. All information must be filed in consumers records as needed and updated as prescribed by funding sources.
