Community Impact Intern – Summer (Paid/In-Person)
Schedule: Mon day – Friday, up to 40 hours per/week

Location: 2 Park Avenue, NYC
Hourly Rate: $25/hour

' ll Do

At L+M Development Partners, we are committed to building stronger communities. This internship will support the work of two departments addressing our Community Impact: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and Workforce + Contractor Diversity.

This internship provides an excellent opportunity to work with a small team of Community Impact professionals at an affordable housing development company. The intern will support various activities, including supporting DEI programming and initiatives, serving as the summer internship program ambassador, and managing Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) outreach and data management. Additionally, this internship will provide an opportunity to learn about affordable housing in the New York Tri-State Area.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with administrative tasks, community outreach and engagement related to our work
  • Support DEI specific activities, including our Summer Internship Program initiatives, Employee Resource Groups, and employee empowerment and talent development programs.
  • Support Workforce and Contractor Diversity team in improving the quality of the M/WBE and workforce program data using Salesforce and strengthening our prequalification process.
  • Assist WCD team with surveying M/WBEs and prequalifying new M/WBEs.
  • Organize 2023 trainings for WCD subcontractors.
  • Assist with scheduling program work, daily operations, and coordination of program activities.

  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple deadline-driven projects, willingness to ask questions, and work independently.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other databases is a plus (Salesforce, SurveyMonkey).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and solution-oriented skills.
  • Social media marketing and data visualization is a plus (Canva).
  • An interest in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Contractor Diversity is a plus.
