Objective:
Responsible for maintaining the supply of materials to meet key goals of customer service, production, and inventory.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Lead a team of buyer/planners, responsible for:
- Releasing purchase orders for direct materials in ERP system
- Scheduling manufacturing orders in ERP system
- Scheduling distribution orders to support other Ambu factories
- Lead monthly Operations Planning meeting to set capacity targets and staffing levels
- Become a super user of the Ambu ERP system (Lawson M3)
- Implement and maintain an optimized replenishment plan for every part. Methods include MRP, visual pull, min/max, VMI, and other hybrid models
- Maintain master data for ERP items, including safety stock levels, order quantities, prices, lead-times, dimensions, case quantities, etc.
- Develop/maintain KPIs to measure performance of suppliers and internal manufacturing
- Participate on projects involving supplier transitions, including new part ramp-up, obsolete part ramp-down, new product introductions, specification changes, and make/buy transitions
- Manage capacity of manufacturing operations and supplier operations
- Create and modify SOP's for supply process to meet ISO/FDA requirements
- Prioritizes non-conforming product resolution
- All other duties as assigned.
Authorities:
- Approves purchase orders
- Approves inventory commitments at suppliers
- Primary escalation for supplier issues
Work Environment:
This is a manufacturing facility and as a result, employees have the potential to be exposed to noise, chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, machinery, vibration or other workplace hazards controlled within compliance of current safety and health standards.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a supply planning role; preferably in a an engineered-product, direct material manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical skills and super user abilities in an ERP system
- Expert user of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and vlookup functions
- Experience with an FDA regulated medical device environment is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Must be able to read, write and understand English
