Job Title: Systems Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY

Cytonome has an immediate opening for a full-time Systems Engineer. This position will be based in Bedford, MA. Cytonome was founded in 2009 on the premise of providing advanced solutions for cell purification needs. By developing cutting-edge technologies in cell purification and platform design, Cytonome provides novel solutions for cell therapy, research, and industry. With deep engineering expertise in the cytometry field and an expansive intellectual property portfolio, Cytonome aims to develop products that simplify existing workflows and enable leading-edge advances and research.

JOB FUNCTION

• Design, assemble, troubleshoot, and test complex mechanical, electrical, and optical sub-assemblies, and record activities as directed on quality records
• Develop automation tools for products and test fixtures (C++, python, MATLAB, etc.)
• Provide feedback and help generate test and assembly documentation for transfer to manufacturing
• Use of small hand tools, microscopes, oscilloscopes, and custom assembly/test fixtures

RESPONSIBILTIES/DUTIES

• Design and implement electromechanical, optical, and fluidic components as well as automation tools
• Assist in the development, integration, and testing of research grade equipment at a system level Perform root cause analysis on complex technical issues and develop solutions
• Maintain clear and accurate documentation in regard to quality, work in progress, and test results
• Work with a team of engineers to resolve production problems and suggest improvements Communicate issues with products or documentation
• Adhere to applicable laws, regulations and Company s policies, procedures, including quality management (ISO-9001, ISO-13485

EDUCATION/SKILLS

• Work effectively in a cross-functional team of engineers and biologists
• Ability to self-organize and work effectively with limited supervision
• Experience with the development of sub-assemblies/assemblies
• Ability to define, document and validate procedures and test results
• Bench top testing of components to ensure requirements are met
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
