SUMMARY OF DUTIES
As instructed by the supervisor, provides direction and follows through in the assembly process from the raw materials and sub-assembly stage to the pre-sterilization stage.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED
People Management
- Review's work performed and provides feedback regarding performance.
- Coordinates work assignments and assigns workers to various tasks/assignments.
- Manages day-to-day coverage on production lines.
- May participate in interviewing applicants for open positions.
- Provides supervisor recommendations for completing annual performance evaluations.
- Performs data-entry for time and attendance.
- Works to maintain open lines of communication with all functions within their responsibility.
- Participates in special projects and/or providing coverage for duties outside of their regular work activities.
- Mentors and is seen as a go-to resource person for other team leads.
- Responsible for and participates in special projects and/or coverage for duties outside of their regular work activities.
Production & Productivity
- Completes any necessary paperwork, documentation (i.e., work orders, reports and team meeting notes).
- Cleans/performs general maintenance of the Clean Room.
- Coordinates resources to prioritize, solve problems and achieve production goals
- Completes work quickly and effectively while communicating to subordinates the importance of schedule adherence and reaching production goals.
- Supports team processes, team meetings, and daily data collection to management.
- Conducts effective team meetings.
- Determines daily production priorities and monitors production standards.
- Assigns work orders to work teams to assemble products according to product specifications (Line clearance).
- Anticipates obstacles and provides input and solutions to overcome them.
- Working overtime may be required for this position.
Quality Control Process
- Provides input on production operations and identifies opportunities to improve work processes and methods.
- Works with Quality Assurance, Maintenance and Engineering to ensure the assembly process is meeting quality specifications.
- Identifies and ensures that quality needs are resolved on a day-to-day basis and that manufacturing criteria are adhered to. Assures that day-to-day production operation is consistent with current procedures and other standards
- Assists as needed to problem solve in product development and manufacturing to ensure needs are met
Safety & Training
- Models safe behavior. Ensures safety programs are planned and implemented to increase the safety awareness of team members.
- Provides hands-on training to assemblers on manufacturing assembly, MPS's, QAP's, GPS's and various manufacturing work systems. Ensures that team members are properly trained to fully understand their roles, responsibility, and tasks.
- Communicates with co-workers and subordinates the need for quality based on who the end-users of the manufactured product are and their expectations for quality and delivery.
- Trains production workers in production methods, safety, and the maintenance of cleanliness standards.
- Performs other related tasks, as required.

SUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma or certificate of leaving, with college education preferred.
- A minimum of two years of related work experience in assembly and manufacturing operations.
- At the Corporate site, if this position is on a Spanish-language line, bilingual (English/Spanish) basic speaking, reading and writing skills must be demonstrated.
