Saladino's, California's largest independent foodservice distributor, is seeking a Driver Supervisor for our Benicia Depot.
The driver supervisor will oversee 8-10 Class A truck drivers, and is responsible for all transportation-related functions of the terminal, including personnel, equipment, DOT compliance, and safety.
Class A license required. Two (2) years of transportation supervision/management experience in a Class A fleet is preferred BUT we are willing to train to right candidate.
Salary depends on experience.

Essential Functions: Departmental Duties
Assists Driver Manager with managing staff and daily transportation operations at the distribution center and/or depot(s), including:
- Investigating customer complaints
- Verifying driver hours for payroll
- Conducting on-going training and periodic driver meetings
- Performs routine checks on equipment condition to verify repair requests, inspects for cleanliness and unreported damage
- Performs random ride-alongs with drivers to ensure quality customer service is being provided; verifies driver’s job performance and that productivity standards are being met
Actively involved in promoting safety and cleanliness at the distribution center and/or depot(s), including:
- Monitoring and enforcing all safety rules
- Completing injury and illness reports accurately, thoroughly and timely
- Assisting with accident investigations
- Travels to other depots to supervise as needed.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
- Two years commercial (class A) driving experience preferred
Licenses and Certifications:
- Valid Class A license and medical certificate
- Clean DMV record (two points or less)
- Doubles endorsement or willingness to obtain
Physical Requirements:
- Sit, stand, walk regularly
- Bend, kneel, reach, climb occasionally
- Lift, carry, push, pull up to 50# occasionally
- Push/pull up on wheels up to 75# occasionally; up to 300# regularly
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly exposed to both an inside office environment and outside weather conditions; regularly exposed to vibration while driving; noise level varies between quiet and moderate.
