POSITION SUMMARY
Yoga Instructors at the Bouldering Project are responsible for programming and facilitating BP’s group yoga classes. Instructors must be able to teach inclusive and intentional classes that focus on enhancing breath, body, and mind. You will be instructing groups between 5 - 40 people at a time to provide BP’s members with a quality yoga experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Creative Movement - create thoughtful sequencing consistent with BP’s class offerings (All-Levels Vinyasa, Vinyasa II, Hot Power Flow, Mellow Hatha).
- Effective Communication - clearly communicate and cue safe asana postures and transitions, pranayama, and meditation
- Inclusivity & Community - welcome all participants, cultivate community, and provide modifications for all fitness levels and abilities (regardless of class title)
- Demonstrate complex yoga movements when necessary
- Provide assists and adjustments to students to uplevel the quality of their experience
- Interact with students, answer questions, introduce/orient new students, generate and maintain a positive yoga experience
- Be Professional - Show up early and prepare for all yoga classes. This includes starting and finishing all classes on time.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the studio space and yoga props
- Value Teamwork - Find a sub to cover your class in the event you are not able to teach.
- Be available to help by subbing for other BP yoga instructors
- Respond appropriately to any emergency situations that may arise
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Instructor 200-hour level or 500-hour
- Current CPR/AED certification and basic first aid training
- Current Liability Insurance for group instructors
- Minimum of 1+ year experience teaching yoga classes
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years experience teaching yoga classes
- E-RYT 200 or RYT 500
- 4 year Bachelor’s Degree
