Klamath Works is a Non-profit Work Training Program. We connect job seekers and employers, providing skills training and work opportunities for youth and adults, analyzing, and sharing data to educate the public on workforce needs, and aligning community partners around workforce initiatives to help make Southern Oregon a place of economic opportunity for all.

We are seeking an energetic, driven Youth Advisor that will perform work providing career counseling, intensive and case management and follow-up services.

General Responsibilities:

• Provide outreach to community agencies, secondary/post-secondary schools, and other organizations throughout Klamath County to identify youth who are interested in receiving employment and training services.
• Conduct pre-assessments with youth to determine their skills, strengths, and career interests to assist in tailoring services to their needs.
• Counsel clients on available job opportunities, training programs and other services
• Assist youth in identifying barriers to obtaining employment and assist them in linking to needed services, to address these barriers.
• Support the day-to-day administrative coordination of the Youth Program to ensure all program service providers and partners are operating under the organization's standards.
• Provide ongoing customer service and technical assistance support for program services providers and partners.
• Follow up and provide additional assistance as needed for youth and employers to ensure youth are successful in their trainings and placements.
• Work with provider service staff to ensure work readiness training is of high quality, rigorous, and meets the needs and interests of students and business partners.
• Represent Klamath Works at community events tailored to youth, presenting an overview of youth services and distributing materials. Be a visible presence in coordinating with community partners to increase youth engagement.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience providing training and working with at-risk youth would be preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to prioritize projects.
• Ability to work independently and proactively in a fluid environment, lead projects, meet multiple concurrent deadlines, and organize time and priorities.
• Must have an appropriate and valid state driver's license.
• Meet background check requirements.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to use good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to be self-directed to work in a fast-paced professional environment with minimum supervision.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
