Welsh Construction is a commercial general contractor based in Melbourne, Florida. The company provides construction and design/build services to the East Central Florida area and beyond. Our projects include office, medical, retail, storage, hotel, educational, religious and governmental buildings delivered exceeding our customer’s expectations.

Welsh is seeking a high-energy team member for a fast-paced environment that will coordinate all site construction activities and supervise all field personnel as required to successfully complete projects.

Welsh is looking for a Commerical Construction Superintendent with at least 5 years of experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the direction of the Project Manager this position will:

• Coordinate and supervise all construction activities.
• Direct all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule.
• Maintain open, daily communications on projects to PM and administrative staff
• Create and update project schedules for on-time delivery.
• Evaluate the effectiveness and performance of field personnel and their crews.
• Complete daily reports and daily timesheets on job-site.
• Attend meetings on and off-site as directed.
• Promote safety practices and procedures.
• Able and willing to travel to other project locations.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 5 years of experience as a Project Superintendent in the commercial construction field on projects in excess of $5,000,000.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations. OSHA certification preferred.
• Experience in working on smartphones and tablets.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and evaluate architectural/MEP/civil drawings and relevant contract documents.
• Experience with construction-related software including RedTeam Go or Procor is desirable.
• Understands and promotes the “team” concept.
• Ability to develop/maintain a positive working relationship with clients, public, subcontractors, suppliers, etc.
• Able to juggle multiple projects.
• Ground-up Storage Facility Construction a plus.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

High school or equivalent required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
